Logitech harmony 1100 Review : www.logitech1100.org Let me start by saying, I hated Universal remotes. Not because they were hard to use but because they didn't keep all of my functions and I would still need the old remote. Last universal I had was bought when I bought my Sony Grand Wega. It was the Sony Remote Commander. It was a good concept, and if they had run with it, they could have been the top dog. The problems that I had with that were 1) no rechargable batteries 2) constant beeping 3) and settings were not easy to put back on when said batteries died. All that kept me away from buying another universal remote. Just replaced my Grand Wega with a Samsung LED and with all the functions between my receiver, blu-ray player, XBMC, and all the rest of my components it was getting hard to keep the remotes in the same place (ie too many people in my house using one or two and leaving them somewhere else). I opted for the Harmony series because I knew they were good from word of mouth. I was amazed how easy it was to setup. And for what seemed to be painful reconnecting because I didn't like how one function worked, it didn't take that long. I have read that there is no customization of this product. This I found to be untrue. For one activity (XBMC for example), on startup, a menu defaults on the remote as my main play.
